Latest update on visiting 66 Portland Place

From 2 July 2021, subject to government guidelines, we will begin a phased reopening of 66 Portland Place: 

  • From 2 July, our current exhibition ‘Freestyle: Architectural Adventures in Mass Media’ will reopen on Fridays and Saturdays between 10am – 5pm, by appointment only. To book your tickets, please visit here.
  • From 9 July our Library will reopen on Fridays between 10am – 5pm, by appointment only. Booking instructions can be found here.
  • From 10 September our bookshop will be open every Friday by appointment only, between the hours of 10:30 to 16:30. Email bookshop@ribabooks.com to book an appointment.
  • We regret that the RIBA Drawings and Archives Study Room (based at the V&A) remains closed for the time being. Please check this page regularly for further updates.

The Bar at 66 Portland Place in London, and RIBA North in Liverpool remain closed for now.

Monday to Friday 8am to 5.30pm (Tuesday open until 8pm)
Saturday 10am to 5pm
Sunday Closed

Please note our facilities (including our exhibitions, Library, bookshop and cafe) within the building have different opening times, please check them in advance before your visit.

How to get here

  • Nearest London Underground stations are Oxford Circus, Regents Park and Great Portland Street 
  • Buses that stop nearby include: C2, 18, 27, 30, 88, 205 and 453
  • Bicycle racks are located outside 66 Portland Place and cycle hire docking stations can be found along Portland Place
  • On-street parking is available on Portland Place (A4021) and its vicinity. Please note 66 Portland Place is inside the northern boundary of the Congestion Charging zone

Accessibility

  • Our main facilities have step free access. Access to the Henry Jarvis Hall and Foyer is by steps only
  • Guide dogs are welcome and portable induction loops are available. A disabled toilet is located in the basement

  • Single yellow line restrictions apply outside 66 Portland Place
  • There are designated disabled parking spaces for Blue Badge holders on Portland Place
