Become a RIBA Client Adviser
The next Client Adviser submission deadline is 30 April 2020. There will be a second submission deadline on 31 October 2020.
RIBA Client Advisers guide clients through the process of commissioning buildings, helping them to maximise the value and quality of their projects.
The RIBA Client Adviser is a RIBA-accredited role which meets the need for independent advice among various client groups.
RIBA accredited Client Advisers are experienced professionals that can provide impartial and informed advice from the earliest stages of the client’s project. They can draw up a business case, prepare the project brief, help select the right practice, set up and lead the project team or manage the procurement on behalf of the client.
In your application, please complete your ‘expertise sectors’ using the following categories where possible:
- Housing – private
- Housing - commercial
- Local authority
- Humanitarian/resilience/disaster recovery
- Other: please provide detail
How to apply
You do not need to be a member of the RIBA to apply to be a RIBA Client Adviser, but if you are accepted by the Assessment Panel you will EITHER need to become a member OR you will have to pay an additional £150 subscription before your name can be added to the RIBA Client Adviser Register.
Please note that you need to be a registered Architect in order to become a RIBA Client Adviser.
All applications are assessed by a RIBA Client Adviser Assessment Panel.

Fees for membership to the RIBA Client Adviser Register are charged at £310 per annum.
