Royal Society of Architects in Wales

St David's Hospice

Wales (RSAW)

The Royal Society of Architects in Wales/Cymdeithas Frenhinol Penseiri yng Nghymru (RSAW) is the voice of the RIBA in Wales. As part of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), the RSAW champions better buildings, communities and the environment through architecture and our members.

Based in Cardiff, we engage with our members and the public across the whole of Wales. We provide support for members through our Spring School and Annual Conference, now in its 25th consecutive year. We also offer CPD through the Wales Future Practice programme; which offers an alternative to the RIBA CPD Club in England through local events and topics relevant to members working or studying in Wales.

We recognise outstanding architecture through the Welsh Architecture Awards, and we support the National Eisteddfod of Wales with the delivery of the Eisteddfod Architecture Medal and student scholarship. We also engage with the devolved Welsh Government by responding to policy consultations and by ensuring we have an active voice on committees and advisory groups.

The wider public can take advantage of the Wales Festival of Architecture programme of events, our Touchstone journal, and publication partnership with the University of Wales Press. Our core programme of events are also complemented by local events organised by volunteer members in branches throughout Wales.
